Congratulations, Martin <(:-)

I thought this was pretty amazing when I read it in Drills. Pleased it's found a home at NVN!

Best wishes,
Fliss

Thanks, Fliss! And thanks to you, too, John!

I figured that, since the poem is pretty topical (though I was originally inspired by The Oldie comp.), I may as well send it to NVN. And I'm pleased James Penha accepted it.

You're welcome, Martin :-)

Yes, pretty topical; and great that the prompt from The Oldie inspired you to write the poem.

Best wishes,
Fliss

Killer robots are forever topical! I wish I were joking, but of course I'm not.

Cheers,
John

Thanks, John. I know what you mean. It's no longer just science fiction.

Thanks for posting this, Martin. The topic got me searching on Google a bit, where I found this article from the 1930s about boxing legend Jack Dempsey saying he could take out any robot, because "The best punch in the world is not worth a whoop if the boxer doesn’t know what to do with it." Oops, AI has taken care of that one.

Thanks for the link, Andrew. That's really interesting about those 1930s robots. I just started reading the article and look forward to reading the rest of it after I walk my dog. Yes, AI would certainly know what to do with it!
