That isn't exactly his best performance; I think he may have calmed down a bit now, unless he was just doing his 'ranting' poems then. He didn't shout at all on Friday night.
Archaisms, clichés, rhyme-driven - I agree with you, and I'm not hailing him as the best thing since sliced bread, to employ an over-used cliché (and what was the best thing before sliced bread?) but he's very entertaining - and some of his poems are wonderful. All of his books are beautifully illustrated, too.
I've been to some dire poetry readings in both London and L.A. - but, as I mentioned before, Felix's shows are well worth going to. No-one leaves the place disappointed.
