They're both excellent and congrats. I went the booze rout.

Both fantastic poems. Congratulations!
I'm ashamed for Pennsylvania, where I grew up. Melissa, I was thinking about that gravestone all day yesterday. There is still such a long road ahead, and now with that pussy-grabbing predator, that xenophobic, homophobic, racist, disgusting airhead in the highest office in the nation, if not the world, I shudder to think of what my native land will look like once he and his minions are finished with it.

Add Simon Hunt's to the list of post-election poems on The New Verse News:

I particularly like the pun on "state of bluest blue."

I like that pun too, Susan--thanks for posting.
And thanks for your support, Mike and Cathy. It really is a long road ahead, though today (a well-attended anti-hatred rally at my university) felt like a promising signpost.

Post-election Poems in New Verse News
Post-election Poems in New Verse News" presents a mosaic of voices echoing the collective pulse of society. Through verse, it encapsulates the spectrum of emotions, from hope to disillusionment, capturing the zeitgeist of our times. Each poem is a brushstroke on the canvas of democracy, reflecting the diversity of human experience. PM Kisan Status
