Just want to say that I recently read Adam Elgar's translation of Truth and Flies by Alessandra Lavagnino (Troubadour Publishing), Once I started it, I couldn't put it down. Not joking. Get it, read it, you too, you won't regret it.
Also to say that I have been lolling in a library larger than the one in our village and saw in the latest issue of World Literature Today http://www.ou.edu/worldlit/ that their recommended reading list includes a translation by The Sharks (Haiene, 1974) (translated by Esther Greenleaf Mürer, Norvik Press / Dufour, 1992) which is apparently the fourth translation by Esther of this author. I must have been asleep on the job? How have I missed this news?
I believe WLT is published in Quincy L's hometown of Normal, OK which is a claim to fame for Q or for WLT, haven't yet figured out which.

I just tried Google Maps and it doesn't show a Normal, Oklahoma.

It only has a Norman, Oklahoma, a few miles south of Oklahoma City on US 35.

No, WLT isn't located at Normal and neither apparently am I. It is Norman, but I am not.

Two big typos (aka as mistakes) in one little old entry and what would Professor Freud say about that?

Perhaps Quincy was pulling our collective what's-it but my dimmed and dimming mind thinks/thought it remembers that he once (or more times) stated publicly that he was from Norma-something OK. And for reasons and family connections known only to myself and
said doctor (Sigismund Schlomo, not Q) my fingers continued to type when they should have ceased and desisted.

Actually, it is Adam and Esther who are the stars of this thread, for their illustrious translations.

Herr Freud was very big on wish-fulfillment (of some sort) operating when we make mistakes. But then again, he thought we (he?) had a death-wish. I wouldn't sweat it: there is a Normal, Illinois. Yippee!
