Moderator Announcement
Dear Eratosphereans,
First, the bad news -- due to personal reasons, Catherine Chandler cannot continue as Deep End moderator. A big thank you to Cathy for past and continued contributions to the Sphere. And continued thanks to Stephen for continuing solo, as before, as the Deep End moderator.
And for some good news, please join me in welcoming our new Drill & Amusements (D&A) moderator, Jayne Osborn. She'll be co-moderating that forum with John Whitworth. And Jayne is no stranger to D&A duties, or working alonside there with John.
Many of you already know a good deal about Jayne, but did you also know that --
She taught English, Math(s) and Creative writing in secondary schools, college and a men's prison.
Currently giving private tuition part time.
Won first big poetry prize in 1996 and a national award in 1998.
Has given regular poetry readings for fifteen years.
Passionate about poetry. [Administrator's Note: We love those types here!]
Enjoys making people laugh. [Administrator's Note: The D&G crowd loves those types!]
Loves good friends, good food and quite partial to champagne. [Administrator's Note: Next time I'm across the pond, I know where to go for the good parties and the good stuff!]
Please join me in giving a hearty to Jayne to Eratosphere's staffdom!
Cheers,
...Alex

Welcome aboard, Jayne!
And Cathy, thank you for all your contributions. Be well, and whenever it's convenient and right for you, well . . . don't be a stranger!

Wonderful news! And I can endorse all Alex says about Jayne, having met her this summer (the photos are there on the Trout-Oxford thread to prove it).
Welcome aboard, Jayne.
And many thanks to Cathy for all her work.

Many thanks to Cathy for being willing to serve, and here's hoping for the best for her and her family.
And welcome, Jayne, and thanks, too!

WELL, MY GOODNESS!!!
So now you really deserve your Lady Jayne title!! Bring on your sweet and bring on your sour, Lady Jayne!!
I am the vassal who wears your ring, remember? Be nice to me.
[Administrator, please note: Do not expect moderation from this Moderator. She talks too much, drinks too much, laughs too long, lies in the sun too long, and she wilfully and persistently insists on making me love her!]
Sometimes, just the sight of their name is enough to make the happy-bubbles rise. Jayne Osborne is such a name.
Champagne Jayne!!!! Oh what a convenient rhyme!!!!!

Cathy,
Take good care of yourself. I hope we can intersect somewhere over the coming year for that long-awaited hug. Remember, you are still co-Captain of the Seven C's!!!
All thanks for all you've given to the Sphere over the years. Hope to read some new poems here from you soon!
Cally
