The Susan de Sola Prize in Poetry
I received this note and announcement on the matter from Moira Egan about the late Eratopherean Susan de Sola--beloved of and missed by most of us here and beyond:
Quote:
With the loving support of her family, to celebrate and commemorate Susan’s life and poetry, The Susan de Sola Rodstein Derks Prize in Poetry has been established at Bryn Mawr College. If you were touched by Susan’s wise, witty, wonderful poetry, her exuberant warmth and generosity, and her great gift of friendship, please consider making a contribution to this fund. The prize will honor Susan’s legacy by recognizing undergraduate poetry that gracefully utilizes poetic form, whether traditional (sonnets, sestinas, ghazals, blues, etc.) or new and invented forms.
The link is here.
The website makes it easy. Click on “Other Designations” and specify “The Susan de Sola Rodstein Derks Prize in Poetry.” The family will be kept apprised of donations on a regular basis; if you wish to remain anonymous, specify that in the Comments block.
If you have any questions, please write to Moira Egan at moirae333[at]gmail[dot]com. If Moira can answer, she will, and if not, she will get the answers from the appropriate sources and let you know asap. Thank you for helping to keep Susan’s memory and poetry alive.
