Beautiful poem.
The naysayers on "Exit 0" would have a point if exits were actually expressed on signs with the numbers written out, but they are not. Say, "Exit One Hundred Fifty One", anyone?

Well, here's how it ends: The poem was published in a hardcopy magazine, and "0" ended up "o" (lower case o) despite it being correct on the proof I was sent. These things happen. Sometimes they seem predestined, in fact. Still happy to land it where I did.

I'm glad to hear it, Rick. Congrats. But what happened to that poor "0" sure is ironic!

Oh, Rick, I'm sorry about the typo.

I remember the poem well for three reasons. I was the one who raised the whole zero question as a new and eager Spherian with what I genuinely believed to be a valid point. You were the one who sent a gentle and understanding private message when the excrement hit the air-conditioning. And the poem is simply (and beautifully) memorable.
