Well, I assumed that the car had stopped in the road because there was a large bird in the way. I seem to be in the minority though.

I assumed the same as Hilary. And I liked the realization that the headlights were acting as if they were stage lights. I enjoyed the scene slowly coming into focus.

I like it. It has a charm and is witty. I see nothing to say beyond what has been said. It doesn't bother me that he takes in so much while driving.

That would be the quickest fix. (I'm never sure if your thread titles are also the poem titles) Perhaps there's a witty Shakespearean-like title that could tie the two "performances" together.

But as is, it doesn't detract from the poem, and in a theatricall way asks the audience/reader to suspend reality and join the alternate reality onstage/on the page — which is pretty cool.

Thank you Hilary! (And James and John, to the same effect.) I'm glad it's gettable from the poem.

Jim, I would like a witty title. But I haven't found one yet. I'm glad you think it's not too much of a problem for the poem.

Cheers all

David
