I'd like to see rhymed poems of less than 10 lines where the punchline has something to do with a mistaken identity.

That should be doable. I met an old friend at the university a few years ago, and we talked for 15 minutes before we discovered that we did not know each other - that he was not an old friend, and neither was I.
I'll try not to let the Tipsy Muse contest influence it. "Holy Gardyloo! Is it you?"

A customer approached a Staples staffer,
With golden locks descending narrow shoulders.
"Excuse me, miss. I'm looking for some folders."
"She" turned around, an irritated glare,
In baritone informed him, "Over there,"
And turned again, ignoring stifled laughter.

It wasn't you that I saw in the park
the other evening, walking with that chick-
the moon was low and it was nearly dark.
The shadows played a cruel, heart-stopping trick.
He was your height, his shoulders your same size
and when he laughed, I thought my heart would burst,
but I knew not to trust my faulty eyes;
I found a pay phone, fumbled with my purse
and got you on the fist ring. Saved your bacon!
I hope that always, dear, I am mistaken.

Lying on the pre-op table,
nurse ascertains his vitals stable.
Through the double doors he's wheeled,
to have the cancer sliced and peeled.
The man awakes, one limb bereft-
The leg was right, the cut was left.
I know, it's horribly morbid, but I'm a nurse, what can I say?

Help Wanted, Secretarial
Under Help Wanted, classifieds,
The ad described me to a tee;
it said send confidential reply
in care of The Times, Box 103.
Longing to kiss my job goodbye,
I stamped and mailed my resume,
then called in sick on appointment day
and told my boss I had the flu.
He seemed almost as surprised as I
to meet face to face at the interview.
