I believe that since President De Gaulle posted an edict that ALL cafes must have a lavatory generally accessible to the public, the French lead the world in personal cleanliness. Since pretty well all free public lavatories have been closed over here, Cameron might consider something similar. There is only ONE cafe on Canterbury High Street - out of a dozen - which has a loo,- and that's not a very good one, the loo I mean, not the cafe which is fine. They serve scrambled egg and smoked salmon for breakfast.

I won booze from the Speccie once - in the benign but neglectful reign of Boris. It took bloody ages to get two dozen Indian Cobra beers out of him.
