Oh, at least, though I remember a poet staying in the poet’s room at Shakespeare & Company in Paris who went around writing poems for people. He asked me once if I wanted one, and I said sure. He immediately got out a scrap of paper, jotted down a few lines and handed it to me. I didn’t know if it was any good, but I saved it. It’s buried somewhere in all the boxes that are now being carted off to the dump.
