Recently, on one of these forums, members discussed briefly how it was easier to publish short poems, which seems to make sense.
I thought about how many long poems Frost wrote. "A Servant to Servants" runs into a fifth page. "The Death of the Hired Man" into a seventh page. Two Witches" runs into a ninth page. And, of course, many of his most famous poems run two two four pages.
I know little of Frost's publishing history except that he didn't get a book published until he was in his forties. Did he publish frequently in journals before his books rolled out? Did journals take his long poems or did most of them appear first in his books?
