Dear Eratosphereans,

It's a new year, a new decade, and it's onward with the Distinguished Guest gigs for the year. Hopefully, we'll continue to garner interest in the popular bakeoffs and workshops, and generous comments from renowned guests.

This is a calendar in progress based on your input in another thread about event suggestions, and as I'd indicated there, your comments and inputs are welcome to assist in completing it.

Mid March — Children Poetry Workshop: J. Patrick Lewis, Distinguished Guest; Roger Slater, Host.
     Submissions: Feb 7 to early March 5. Event: March 18-..

Mid April — The Sonnet bakeoff: R.S. Gwynn, Distinguished Guest; Catherine Chandler, Host.

Mid May — French Repeating Forms: Bruce Bennett, Distinguished Guest; Susan McLean, Host.

And that's the draft of events and dates. I know concern has been expressed about too many events. We have less events this year, and hopefully, that's enough to address that concern.

Everyone's input is welcome for the (PROPOSED), and the TBD events, plus opinion of missing events that need inclusion, or included events that need to be removed. If you can assist to secure the guest or a guest, respond here or PM me and then, try to get that spot confirmed. That way, we'll ensure we don't annoy a potential DG by several of us contactinng him or her about the same thing. All comments/suggestions for refining the schedule or the events listed are welcome.

I realize this is little early considering the submissions start is 7 Feb., but I'd like to know if the Children's P. submission is supposed to be a polished poem or just a draft. I ask because the title is Children's Poetry Workshop, which makes it sound a little like the Haiku workshop.

This thread is growing colder and colder and so far, there's not been much volunteering to snag DGs for the events tabled out. Hey, you won't let me do all the work, no! Good, and in that case I'd love to see some input/initiative wherever it comes from.

Still, I'll have a few updates soon on how far I've managed to get events/DGs/hosts/dates confirmed.

I think it's great that the DG for the Children's Poetry Workshop has been confirmed. The submissions date was listed as February 7th, which was yesterday. Any news from Bob on the details of the event?
