Also, a bit like screen actor Owen Wilson (American), fast-forwarded a bit. Clearly, Brian chose the wrong profession.

While the jury's out, here's a blog post I've just wriiten about my stay in Paris. Not a lot of actual poetry as such, though I can strongly recommend The Journal of Eugène Delacroix.

Charlotte, Annie, Susan,

Ladies, ladies... please!!! Brian's NOTHING LIKE any of the guys you've mentioned. You're just getting desperate now (but not half as desperate as I am! )

We're trying to match him to a British actor, remember?

Duncan,
I enjoyed reading the blog and finding out what you got up to. (Drinking... more drinking... drinking some more...)
You have a nice job. I'm wondering why I never got to go to Paris with colleagues when I was teaching.

Jayne

Get off it, Ann. Claude Rains is about a foot too short. I think the great Albert Finney is about the best bet. Though Brian has aged far more beautifully. Finney should have laid off the chip butties. I'm sure Brian has never even SEEN a chip butty. French cuisine keeps him ever svelte. Vive la France!

I say Denis Lawson. Scottish not Irish, from Local Hero.

Spot on, Mary - though more the BBC's Bleak House than Local Hero. We'd all be glad to age as well, Brian - consider yourself complimented.
Best,
Nigel

You're right, John, although I may once have seen a chippy's butt.

Ooops! What am I saying?
