From our clever member Tony comes this particular FunX. Everybody into the pool.
--------
A 26-word poem, running through the alphabet, either forward:
Chicken Commandos
Assassin biddies: chicken-directed espionage.
Farmer Grey’s hens infiltrate Jammu, Kashmir,
laying mines near outposts. Pecking queues
readied, set to unleash viral weapons:
xenobiotic yolks zapped.
or backwards:
On the Future of Xylophony
Zoltan Yanich, xylophonist (world virtuoso)
uses treble syncopation, rhythmic quirks,
pioneering odd new musical legacies:
kinetic jazz, innovative home-grown funk,
ecstatic, dynamically conceived bass arpeggios.

Zoilus yowls xanthic wrixlement, vetoed under
The sordid reward-quest. "Put On"? No, more like
Keeping just in hand's grasp fluid energies
Dead, caught; bejasmined arabesque.

Kate & Tony,
What a fun exercise! I love the examples, particularly on the xylophone.
Here's my attempt:
Asterix
Ah bright celestial dust--
Ever far-gazing here, I
Just know legends, monsters,
Names of princesses.
Quiet riddle, solve,
Tell us, Vastness, why
Existence, your zodiac?

Alicia, Graywyvern,
Glad you've taken (and taken to) the challenge. By the way, G., what's wrixlement?
Here's another:
Mytharc Madness
Zany Yevgeny, X-Files wonk, views uncut tapes
showing rabid, quirky psychopath on nicotine;
Mulder lycanthropized, killing jellyfish in his garden.
FBI edgy; DNA corrupted by aliens.

What a great exercise! I loved the above - especially the chickens!
Here are two of mine:
Avuncular Bob Clawson, doyen extraordinaire,
found Gazebo horrendous.
"Imagine jaded klutzes loving mere nonsense!
Ovine pedantry quickly renders senile those
unsavoury villains who excoriate young zealots".
A breath costs dearly:
every fragile gasp
hollows, injures; jeopardises.
Kow-tow - lest mortality
overwhelm pneumatic, quixotic respiration.
Surely, terminal, ululated vows will
extinguish your zenith.

It all sounds a bit trippy to me....
After buying consider`dis;
Eggs further gestation held in
Juice; kept lemons miss
nice Oranges. Pears, quince,
radishes; say...tomorrow ?
Until vexed,we xerox you Zorro!

Another beauty could dice, entice
four gorgeous handimen in jest.
Kallisto lights men's nocturnal overtures,
peers quivering, receptively sensuous,
through unconscious velvet weave;
X-rays yearning zucchettos.

I've enjoyed reading these abc's - my favorite is the "breath" one by Nigel. Here is my first try - sure is a brain-stretching funexcise!
A beautiful caring Dryad envisioned
flying gleefully high, imagining
Juno kindly leading many nympholeptic
Olympian prospects, quietly remarking,
"such truly ubiquitous, virile
winsome yabbering zoomorphs!"
Zebras yanking xyloid willows,
vigilantly uprooting tender
saplings, rooting quickly
pulverizing ornithoid nibs,
munching loudly, katydids
joining in harmony, glowworms
flashing, evening dewdrops
crystal balls aglow.

I'm glad to see some new ones since I was last here. I particularly like Nigel's poem about Bob and Lessandra's zebra poem.
Here's a couple more.

The Hoboken Gospel
Zealous young Xavier warns Vatican:
unusual Testament seems real;
quotes proof of nine morose lemurs
killing Jesus, icing Holy Ghost.
Famed ecumenical diaries confirm;
Bishops astounded!
Bristly Bear
“Alarmed by capitalism’s decadence,
endless foreign gloating, he’ll irately
jostle Kremlinites, launch Moscow’s
nuclear ordnance; Putin’s quite ready,”
screams that ultra-vehement wacko,
xenocidal yokel Zhirinovsky.
