Reginald Kenneth Dwight

Reginald Kenneth Dwight, you see,
(a juvenile musical prodigy)
attended the Royal Academy
- folks said he would go far.

He sentenced his bookish professors to shame
by changing his preference, changing his name,
and changing to outrageous outfits became
a pop / rock super star.

So Kenneth went ‘Poof!’, then by filling the stands full,
got himself knighted, survived major scandal;
but changing the name of his wind-blown candle
went a bit too far.

Richard Starkey

Such a dull-sounding name,
he just couldn't cling to it.
So he chose another
with more of a ring to it.

Richard Starkey Redux

He came from the cowboy scene,
stormed to the west;
but some coleopterists
still love Pete best.

Back to you, Marion *grin*

Jerry,
Very good!
Although perhaps the double entendre is a bit obscure for those who are not coleopterists. But that doesn't bug me (haha)

Ouch! That's because we're both a little buggy already, no?

Just reminded me of fivefootone's poem, 'Bug Out!'

Removed because it was too simplistic and obvious

Norma Jeane Mortenson

Her skirt blew high.
Her curves caressed.
I catch my eye
Upon her chest.

OK, so I got John Wayne, Marilyn Monroe, Whoopi Goldberg, Woody Allen, Ginger Rogers, Judy Garland, Joan Crawford, Chubby Checker, and Lewis Carrol. Who did I miss?

Annie,

You missed Tony Curtis, Vivian Leigh, Mother Teresa, George Eliot, John Garfield, Kirk Douglas, Elton John, Ringo Starr.

I admit to being stumped on yours. (I could've Googled, but that would be cheating! ) I'm also stumped on Anne's.

Marion,

Googling is not cheating -- it's educational If you can't solve a crossword puzzle, don't you go look at the answers eventually?

I've missed most of them (until I googled them). Are you keeping a tally? Are people sending you their answers?
