More to come later... am still on deadline but heard people were desperate for pix. Most are on the craptop, which does not wish to speak with the desktop at this time.

No, no, Paul, I never looked like James Fenton-- I looked like Henry James, remember?? Ah, how quickly the world forgets. Nevertheless, I certainly want to thank you for reporting so vividly on your memory of my physical condition at West Chester '04. Lovely of you.
Actually, though, my current uncanny resemblance to Tim Steele represents a mere pause in my long strange trip toward physical nirvana. My real goal is to look like this:

Oh my God, Marilyn, that's Vladimir Gruschenko, the legendary KGB master mole, who dropped out of sight when the Cold War ended. He speaks eloquent, highly cultivated English; and the only giveaway is that his sentences tend to be too perfectly parsed, the language almost iambic at times. There always was a fear that he would attempt to infiltrate our Government. Has the man been spotted?

Trust me, Marilyn. You look better than Mike. You also look better than Cantor.

I wish I looked as good as Marilyn. As happy as Mike Peich. But even more I wish I were as funny as Cantor or Gwynn. Sigh. What the hay, at least the rest of us get to giggle.

At lunch on Friday, Sam had me laughing literally till my sides ached. And speaking of West Chester and lunch -- Agent Gwynn, your assignment, should you choose to accept it, is to write a light verse poem beginning with the lines:
Has anyone ever seen
such lovely shades of green
in a flour tortilla?
Marilyn, your eyes, up close, are trance-inducing.
