Poetry by the Sea Conference
Rumors are flying about the WCU Conference 2016, and perhaps an announcement will be forthcoming soon.
Meanwhile I wanted to draw your attention to this lovely article, which appeared in the WCU student newspaper, The Quad, about Poetry by the Sea's inaugural conference, and which features a flattering photo of our own Rick Mullin!
Cheers!

Hi Anna,
I find it a bit odd that no one else has responded to this thread so far. The announcement you alluded to has now been made, ... so we know that WC is up and running again, under Sam's leadership.
No one wants to feel disloyal to Kim (or to you!) but, as I posted on the WC thread, I just don't have a clue what all that political stuff was about last year!!!! Therefore I'm not able to say "I'll never go to WC again because..."
Actually, I'd really like to be a glutton and attend both conferences. (If I'm going to cross the Atlantic, and they're only a week apart, ...why not??)
I seriously want to start planning a trip next May/June, but I need some waterfowl alignment first - in other words, I need to get my ducks in a row, as we say over here!
I'd love to see you again, and loads of other people too, but I need some guidance about all this first, before I start looking at flights!

Jayne, I think it's a wonderful idea for you to attend both conferences and tour the NE in between. I think you'll have the trip of a lifetime! Plus if you book flights early enough, they really shouldn't be too expensive. Have fun planning everything and let me know if you have any questions!

I should be able to make a further announcement about that in a few days, Cathy. Not all of the faculty have announced their topics yet, and I don't want to supply incomplete information.

The scholarship application form for Poetry by the Sea 2016 is officially open, and available here.
It's a little different this year. Fill out your details, references, and preference for a full or partial scholarship on the form, and later on you will also fill out the general registration form with your workshop preferences etc. General registration opens mid-December.
Also, of course, don't forget to email your supporting material as follows:
To apply for a seminar scholarship, please send 3-5 pages of academic prose to Anna M. Evans.
To apply for a workshop scholarship, please send 5-10 pages of poetry to Dr. Kim Bridgford.
All scholarship materials need to be received by the deadline of January 31st 2016. Awards will be announced by February 28th 2016.
Looking forward to seeing you by the sea next May!
