Default John Isbell in The Ekphrastic Review again!

Congratulations to John, whose poem inspired by Hieronymus Bosch's The Temptation of Saint Anthony appears in TER today. You can access it here

Best wishes,
Fliss

You're very welcome, John! In all honesty I know more about Bosch washing machines than this artist, but I'm inspired to read up about him. I'm glad you enjoyed writing the poem

Best wishes,
Fliss

I love Bosch, though I needed larger versions of the artworks to make out the things you describe in the poem. I enjoyed your descriptions, even without being able to make out the things described. I have seen the paintings before, in larger reproductions.

Thank you, FLiss, Sarah-Jane, and Susan - it is appreciated. Susan, here's a link to a bigger image that can be blown up. Yes, the TER image is smallish given the detail in the triptych, which is amazing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tripty...0_16-21-31.jpg

Cheers,
John

I think you captured the essential weirdness of Bosch, John.
