Yup, the lads done good. I'd meant to celebrate the Lancashire hotpot, but don't seem to have got around to it. Pace Sarah Wall, my choice for a sugar jones is fudge from Penrith.

I blush (or gag) to confess that mine was one of the entries singled out for special opprobrium.

I wrote to praise the Cornish pasty.
The judge thought those poems tasted nasty.

My wife wanted me to hymn sticky toffee pudding. As far as she's concerned, I worshiped a false god and deserved to lose.
