John, indeed good news that you are no longer horizontal. Were we in the 18th century it would no doubt be a cue for:
Verticality Restor'd, or, Mr W's Welcome Home from Hospital
Cease, comic Muse, distractedly to moan,
Thy Fav'rite, Whitworth, is no longer prone . . .
(Apply via planchette to A.P. Esq. for the rest)
And congratulations too on the Oldie win, which if there were any justice should have replenished your supplies of strong brown tea.

Back, vertical, and trailing clouds of Oldies behind you - that's a hell of an entrance, John. Welcome back.
And thanks to Jayne, who hardly had to discipline us at all - and congratulations on yr Modship.
Frank

John,
We all love you, and I'm honoured to be your deputy.
Guys and gals: thanks for the support. Drills and Amusements is a great board to hang around - see you there... often!

Yay John! Life life life! Despite the grand view from your room there, it's still a nasty old hospital with gezillions of germs. So relieved you had no contact with or contagion from the dreaded "restless leg syndrome" one hears so much about these days from our pharmaceutical flacks in the US.
Keep mending!
And well done, Jayne!

John W!
Welcome back ten fold! As one whose stays in hospital beds have been far too frequent of late, I and and my IV-punctured wrist commiserate. Or do you Brits call that infernal needle spun in the bowels of Tartarus an IV? Jayne Osborne BTW has enough wit and wisdom to run any ship I'm sailing on, but it's good to have the captain back.

Oh, shucks, Lance, thanks for that (it's the economy spelling btw: Osborn).
I totally agree that it's good to have 'Captain John' back at the helm.

Do you know Lance, I had one of those but I've completely forgotten what it was called. Left some fine bruises on both arms though. Canulla?

So she's not content with leaving bruises on Prince Charles' arms? Good you've survived, John baby.
