Default The Chimaera makes Best Australian Poems 2011

I've just been notified that Les Murray's poem 'Going to Karachi, 2010', which appeared in The Chimaera's Issue 8, was selected by John Tranter to appear in The Best Australian Poems 2011. This print anthology has wide distribution in bookshops and libraries.

That is excellent news. A terrific poem, a terrific venue and lots of new folks will be camping on your site, Paul. Bunker up on food and water, you may not be able to go out for a while

Thanks, colleagues. The Best Australian Poems annual is a fairly prestigious publication on the Australian scene. The glory is Les Murray's, of course -- but I think some of it reflects on all those authors who contribute towards making The Chimaera's general standard so high, which provides a springboard for such leaps. So well done, all you lot!

Congratulations on the recognition, Paul. Your bringing such illustrious poets as Les Murray into The Chimaera reflects well on the journal and everyone in it.
