I was honored to be published several times in Umbrella (and also in Tilt-a-Whirl), and am sorry to see them go. Umbrella was one journal I read "cover to cover" every time a new issue appeared.
Thank you so much, Kate, for publishing my work, and for publishing so much good work in such a stylish format. Best wishes to you with your future projects.

Sad news. I had just received my first (very kind) rejection note from Kate and had been looking forward to many more. They are lovely journals.

Thanks for accepting my work, Kate, especially one of my more outrageous poems, "What rhymes with breasts?" Your journals are elegant and fascinating. Thanks for them, and enjoy your retirement!

I had no idea how fortunate I was when Kate accepted two poems for the final issue: I knew and admired Umbrella but was late to the party, as usual. And what a party those archives hold!
Congratulations and thanks again, Kate!

First thoughts were - not Umbrella and Bumbershoot - I should've contributed more - why didn't I? - I'll miss reading them - at least they'll continue to be great repositories on the Internet - then I realized I'm at stage 5.

Aesthetically, your two journals were so elegant and eye-appealing. Thank your so much for your labor and assistance.

Kate,
No person with skin like yours should be getting social security cheques.
It isn't right.
Cally (thank you for all you have done for years for all of us!)

I do hope the archives will stay up indefinitely, those past issues being a great resource for those looking up contemporary examples of repeating forms.

Under the Umbrella, I've always found poems and poets that I went back to again.
Thank you for it and for them,
Marcia
