Default New Statesman -- fiscal cliff -- January 24 deadline

No 4261
By Leonora Casement

At the last moment the looming “fiscal cliff” threatening the US was avoided, thanks to swift action taken by Congress agreeing a deal to avoid the worst of the terms of the Budget Control Act of 2011, which were scheduled to go into effect at the end of 2012. We want a child’s description and explanation of what a “fiscal cliff” is . . . and how you avoid it.

A fiscal cliff is something what you jump off of when even with the thought of making some pocket-money, you can't face competitions like this one.
