Thank you Julie. That's very "helpful". Now I need to find a way to stop Neil from reading this thread!

Julie, that reminds me of a contest I once submitted to (songwriting of all things, for which I got hon mention), where my constant re-recording caused me to miss my own time zone deadline, so I kept moving it back until I reached, literally, Hawaii time. And finally turned it in. Were all contests so deadline-flexible. Not to mention resolutions. I've resolved to send more things in no later than Rosh Hashanah.

Here's what some writers have resolved to do this year.

K, I made a special request for sordid and juicy. Not so much as a revelation on boxers or briefs, granny panties or thongs, yet. Heard someone on here really has the warmies for David Cameron. My memory fails me, though pretty sure it wasn't John.

No, Jeanne, it wasn't me. I'm the one that likes Mr Farage. I made a resolution not to say that. I've broken it already.

John,
I'm not positive if my inference to "the warmies" translates across the pond. Or even to most here, since I have a fondness for hip yet archaic catchphrases that were "cool" in my hayday (oops, I did it again). When you say like, do you mean know, like biblical knowing...nevermind. None of my beewax.

Good Heavens no, Jeanne. Tsk, tsk, the very idea. Our Home Secretary, Teresa May, perhaps. But no-one approaches the divine Maggie in that regard.

Perhaps not as sordid as you were hoping for, Jeanne...but this year I resolve to learn to play the tenor ukulele well enough to become a member of the world's second oldest profession (busking).
[Edited to add: Duncan, the hardest I've laughed all year is the part of your link that said "My literary resolution this year is to buy no new books until I’ve read all the books I already have." GOOD ONE!]

My New-Year's resolution is to keep promoting the anti-defamation of granny panties.
