Aw... Mark, I'm so sorry to hear your news. My condolences, but I'm hardly going to comment on it not being of the ''good news'' variety.
I'm having a little drink right now, so yes indeed... "Cheers, Joe!!! You produced a lovely son."
It's Good News to me that your Dad loved poetry; the two Roberts are a fine choice, though I must add Frost as a third, and my own favourite!
All the best to you and the family.

Mark, it's harder to take such news when it is unexpected. You have my sympathy. I am hoping you can get through this sad time. Poetry can help, though never as much as you wish it would.

Mark, I'm sure he knows you write poetry now. Here's to your dad.

Mark, heartfelt condolences to you. It is hard, I know, and it seems even more so when it comes out of the blue. May you find the strength you need, and comfort at this time. There are always loose ends, but a love of poetry that both of you had is no small thing. It’s a way of opening the heart, and expressing what can’t really be contained in words. And yet all these attempts are somehow ennobling. May the best of him be with you.

Hi Mark,
I'm sorry about your dad; I'll certainly raise a glass to him tonight.
'When death's dark stream I ferry o'er,
A time that surely shall come;
In Heaven itself, I'll ask no more,
Than just a Highland welcome.'
(I hope that's okay; I just looked it up.)
Best wishes,
Fliss

Hi,
Thank you for all these kind thoughts, folks. They really do help.

I'm sorry to hear this. I remember those poems and enjoyed them greatly. I will raise a glass.
