Default Susan McLean in Ecotone

The latest Ecotone arrived today, with Susan McLean's moving poem "My Mother and the Mysteries," along with several other poems in meter and rhyme. Congratulations, Susan!

And by the way, Ecotone's print version is one of the most beautifully produced literary magazines out there, and you should subscribe. Anna Lena Phillips Bell does an outstanding job.

Thanks, Maryann and Fliss. I hadn't really considered submitting to Ecotone before, whose focus on place is not what I generally do. But when I noticed how many good poets who wrote in form were being published in it, I decided to give it a try.

Congratulations Susan,

I should subscribe to Ecotone. Give me till the end of the month, when I get to tally up the out/ins, and if I can, I will.

I love the poem, the title is wonderful, especially, and I remember it, despite only getting the first few snippets on the site.

You're welcome, Susan. I'll have to take a look at Ecotone, as it's 'form friendly'

Best wishes,
Fliss

Beyond "form friendly," I'd say. Their submission guidelines specifically solicit meters and forms:
Quote:
Work in any meter is welcome—dactyls, anapests, iambs, amphibrachs; Sapphics, work in accentual meter. We are not ridiculous; we love substitutions! But the work must clearly inhabit a meter. We’d also especially like to see work in the French repeating forms—rondeaux, ballades, rondels, rondelets, kyrielles, and the like.
