Gunpowder references inevitably lead to thinking of the Gunpowder Plot. Is that an intended reference?
No, the banks represent the three sides of the triangular trade and gunpowder was one item of the 'Manufactured Run' (the first leg, from England to Africa.)

The bottom line is I'd like more.
