I've enjoyed this six weeks with you. I'll be away for three weeks now and mostly unable to get to the web. Hope you've enjoyed our "talks."

Dave, thanks so much for your time. I'm looking forward to your reading in October. Everyone else should make time to visit Colorado Springs in October. On consecutive Thursdays we have Anthony Hecht and David Mason readings at CC. Woohoo!

David, I'd like to thank you on behalf of all of us for your stimulating leadership at the Lariat. Steven, you're in for a treat when you hear Dave, one of the best readers (and poets) of my generation.

Unfortunately, I just talked to Helen Hecht, and Tony is gravely ill, confined to his bed and very unlikely to go to Colorado. Anyone out there who has any influence with the Almighty, please pray for this great old man.

The Hecht reading in Colorado Springs has been cancelled. In his place there might well be a reading by Pete Fairchild.

Thanks, David, for your leadership and stimulating essays. It's been a master class for me.

Best wishes,

Bill

What bad news on Mr. Hecht. I'm sorry to hear it.

I've already had the pleasure of hearing Dave read a couple times before, and I look forward to this one too.

Dave
Because of the time of year when so many Sphereans are absent I have had more access to your wisdom than would normally have been the case. I have enormously enjoyed and appreciated your contribution.
Thank you for your imaginative and knowledgeable responses to all of my questions.

Unfortunately I won't be one of the lucky ones who will hear you read.

Anthony Hecht is a poet I prize and I am sad to know he is ill.

Best wishes,
Janet

I am extremely lucky that I got to hear Mr. Hecht read earlier this summer at Sewanee, & I wish I had been able to have more conversation with him than the mere scrounging of an autograph. (Which, of course, I am very glad to have.) Certainly I hope he pulls through & continues writing for a good long while to come.

I have said this before, but whoever can hear either Dave or Pete or both read in Colorado has my envy. Both are truly wonderful.

Chris

Oh, my, I'd planned to make it over to see Anthony Hecht read. I'm glad I saw this thread, and will hope for his full recovery. Thanks for mentioning the readings, Steven, which this backward western sloper had hoped somebody would do.

David, many thanks for your time in the Lariat seat, (what Bill said) and my belated thanks for having the CC information sent my way. I hope to make it over for the following week.

It's a glorious time of the year to be in the high country; enjoy your trip !

Wendy:

I hope I will get to meet you at one of the readings! I like getting to meet people I know online.
