Leslie,

I am so wowed by this bio and interview of Julie Kane. To have studied under Anne Sexton even for a short time is something eye-popping to have in one's biography. I am a fan of Sexton and Plath even though I tend to avoid confessional poetry because it is not as much in vogue as it was in the 70's, not to mention the fact that there are, unfortunately, some rather cruel people in the world, including people in poetry circles who are looking for things to gawk at - people who would love to focus in on your every flaw. I know that sounds cynical, but I have become very cynical about people in general. I think the poem "Used Book' speaks to how unreliable humans can be. Thanks for showing us Julie Kane. I would definitely purchase her books, and not only if I found one in a used bookstore.

All the best -
Anne
