I do agree, it's a terrific Able Muse - I'm not even half-way through it yet, and have learned a great deal already.
Funny anecdote about public recognition regarding your foster brother: we entered a cafe in Ouray which happened to be crammed with the same school kids Dave had given a talk to at the local school earlier in the day. A girl, about ten years old, turned round and, surprised to see us standing behind her at the counter, blurted out, "You're the famous poet, and you're a lovely lady."
It was a moment of pure, sweet, innocence. As if she were naming us, in her own way.
Oh, and the drawings through the book are wonderful. There's nothing like a hard-back book with drawings! You must be simply thrilled with this book.
