Not gratuitous. And not an insult. Striving to build vocabulary all around. Who said I was thinking of anyone other than one Mike Nichols? His book "Real Men Belch Downwind" on p 106 gives this law (we all know it's true, but some ignore it) : " ... the impact of an expletive is inversely proportional to its frequincy of use. This can be stated in the following equation: I = one/ F, where "I" is the impact that an expletive has on people and "F" is the frequency of its use."
