Roger, that is just rude. America cares for nothing except American interests and never has. Obama didn't like Brexit because it might impact adeversely on the United States so he went immediately into threatenng mode. Which is what you do, isn't it?
Try to keep a civil tongue in your head.

John,
I'm sorry, but your "We're all right, Jack" attitude justly prompted Roger's reply, in my opinion. Your political opinions are causing quite a few members to get frustrated with you, which has been pointed out on numerous occasions, and not just by me, yet you persist in posting contentious remarks.
I can't bear the thought of Trump as President of the United States, not because he can or can't harm me as a woman (as you mentioned), but because the man is a malign influence on society, not to mention being a total tw@t.
These threads always arouse strong feelings, and as long as no one resorts to nasty, ad hom remarks then it's not necessarily rude to express them, as Roger was moved to do.

John, if you don't like being treated like a fool. don't make foolish comments. And if you don't think that a US President who has no clue on foreign relations, who is likely to start a war by accident, and who is equally clueless on global warming isn't going to effect England, all you are doing is - again - demonstrating your incredible naivete.
And - oh yeah - I'm sorry about Lend Lease. I guess it was really rude of us to help you out.

You're not showing any lack of nerve today, Bob. You make a straw man of my position when you suggest I "[think] it ... best to elect ... Trump." You are usually fairer than that.
I think we have similar goals though we disagree about tactics and maybe priorities.

Yes to this view. I have felt for many, many years that the two-party system, at its core, is essentially corrupt and bankrupt.

I keep waiting for someone, anyone, to say any positive things about the democrat nominee. This is a democrat thread, is it not? Why are you guys busting John's balls here? Come on, Hillary supporters, give it up. Let's see some love for your champion. No? Oh, well.
About foolishness: Barack Hussein Obama never held a non-government job, unless you count the community organizer gig. He barely got his feet wet in the US Senate before he clobbered Hillary in the 2008 primaries. Other than his vast experience growing up in a Madrassa in his youth, what foreign relations experience had he exhibited before he was elected? Hell, I can't even keep up with how many times he changed his name or even who raised him. And you guys are gonna' land on John over Trump's lack of experience? Really? And calling an unproven guy a "fascist pig" when the democratic alternative is called what, a saint or savior? Wouldn't it be much more honest for you guys to just say: We're all royally screwed, and get on with it? At least show some integrity.

I wondered when Cantor would come cantering up. Like Bob you loose off your missles with no thought to what I said. Until you address that your comments are of no value. I did not say Trump was a good chap. I said here in Britain it doesn't matter much to us.
I can't imagine what lend lease has to do with it. American entered the war because of Pearl Harbour as any fule no. The Japanese were their enemy and it was about trade. The war against Hitler was won by the Russians with huge loss of life. We should all be grateful to them.

I'm quite well aware of what you said. My point was that this is a complex and inter-related world, and if America elects a malignant fool for a President the impact on the UK would be massive. John, you're sounding more and more like the Trump supporters who think that the solution to everything is to jump up and down and bellow "USA-USA-USA-USA" at the top pf their lungs, until we become great again.
I'm not going to waste my time hunting more numbers, because you don't deserve my time, but the US had about 12,000,000 men and women in uniform during WWII, and a good portion of those were in Europe, and about 300,000 were killed (all theaters combined.) Hooray for the Russians, who for most of the war fought valiantly to protect and recapture their land (and eventually gobbled up other lands.) America was over there protecting your land, John, among others. And Lend Lease provided England with desperately needed ships and planes and military supplies before and throughout the war.
As I said, you don't deserve my time. But I can't bring myself to ignore your foolish and bombastic outbursts. The only good thing about this is that at least you can't vote for Trump, because you sure seem to deserve each other.

Ah Michael, how lucky the world is to have the United States. How will we manage without you protecting us? And we're just not grateful.

John,
If you haven't seen it, please read my post #12.
You just seem to enjoy stirring things up with inane remarks, lord knows why.
