High time Catherine won this thing!
Great news for all - congratulations!
(And as for me, my entry will wend its way elsewhere...)

Congrats, Cathy! (I can finally do so publicly since I've known she was a finalist for days now, and winner since last night.)
And congrats David, Jean, Michael, and Mike. As someone has already noted, The Sphere Rules!
::BEGIN PLUG :> By the way, Cathy's fine first book should be out any month now from Able Muse Press, with fine sonnets aplenty ... and Wendy Videlock's also, near simultaneously. More news on that real soon! ::END PLUG <-
Cheers,
...Alex

All Hail Cathy, Queen of the Sonnet! Long may you reign!
And hurrah Jean! I guess this is your first time as a finalist for this? I'm sure you'll find yourself in the winner's circle again!
And congrats to all the rest, David, Mike, Michael. Well done, as usual!
Thanks,
Bill

Catherine --
Stunning!
You go, girl!
Terrific work.
Congratulations, too, to the finalists.
P.S. Alicia Stallings was the judge, I believe -- making the award an even bigger honor coming, as it does, from maybe the most accomplished practicing sonneteer.

Also to the finalists.
Cathy, I'm so pleased to hear your book is coming out. I look forward to reading it.

Wonderful news, but not surprising. When I looked down the list of previous winners on the page Maryann linked on the recent GT Nemerov thread, I noticed an obvious name missing.
Now it's not.
Huge hugs, Cathy!
And all of you finalists! Michaels and Jean and David! I wish I could read all your sonnets right now! (David, I remember 'Conductivity' so well - it made a flow pattern in my brain!)

I don't mean to milk my little part of this moment, but I can't restrain myself from responding to one of the comments above. Bill--it turns out I was fortunate enough to make this list last year, too!
But truly, I mention that only to let you all know how much more fun it is this year, reading all these congratulations! Thanks again!
Best,
Jean
