We’re saddened that Maryann Corbett
is quitting. It’s hard to absorbett.
But ain’t it exciting
to think she’ll be writing,
not righting, within her new orbett?
("Quitting" is not the right word, but “stepping down from an insanely time-consuming and politically delicate task after performing it superbly for many years” didn’t fit the meter. Thank you, Maryann!)

Thank you, Maryann, for all you've done for the Sphere -- as member, then moderator, admin, and the unquantifiable extras.
(And everyone, if you need to, reroute your admin needs my way, for now.)
Cheers,
...Alex

Maryann, you have been truly excellent as a moderator, but I will welcome seeing more of your poetry when you have time to write more. Thank you and best wishes for productive times.

Thank you, Maryann, for all the time you've put in over the years - and it is a demanding and time-consuming job - and particularly for being the voice of common sense and moderation when others, including some Mods, weren't. Your presence, and the respect you had earned, held the Sphere together during some difficult times.

Stop, stop, she is a draw, no way!
As I go gasp, Maryann --ay!--
ramps agog. I say
aw, onward, as I
--eh-- spot spots.
Forgive the palindrome, Maryann, and thank you for your work here. I'm happy to know you plan to remain a Spherean!

Maryann,
You did a fine job, as did Carol Taylor before you.
I know from experience how thankless a moderator's task can be. How much more so for the head administrator.
Best,
David

Hi Maryann,
I've already thanked you elsewhere, of course, but I want to add my voice of thanks here as well. As first a moderator, and then Administrator, your contribution to Eratosphere these last few years has been immense--and immensely important.
Not to mention, as we all might imagine, immensely demanding. Which is the happy flipside of your announcement today. Here's to freedom from the burdens of the Admin board! May you find your newly liberated time and energy rich with delicious possibilities and (to speak selfishly for a moment) poetry. Here's hoping you share it with us.
All the best,
Steve C.

Maryann, it's a demanding task and you made it look easy. Congratulations on the outstanding job you did and on your return to civilian life.

Maryann, many many thanks. And may the extra twenty hours a day prove beneficial to you, in all ways.
