Okay, dear. Why bicker?
Liquor's no quicker.

More Ancient Music
Springtide is icumen in
Lhude sing Achoo.
Pollen drifts and gives us fits
And how the sneezes echo!
Sing: Achoo
Burneth eyes and causeth sighs
An ague hath my head.
Meltests snow and makes nose blow
And sinuses to bleed anew.
Achoo you sing: Achoo
Achoo, Achoo, ‘tis why I am, Achoo
So ‘gainst the springtime’s brew
Sing Achoo, Achoo, sing Achoo,
Sing Achoo, sing Achoo, ACHOO!

Sea Fever
Oh I must bide by my own fireside in my flat in Ponder's End,
With a Chinese Chicken Takeaway to share with a special friend,
With a pot of tea and a DVD and the radiators humming.
What we like most is we're warm as toast whatever weather's coming.
It's tipping down in Camden Town, likewise in Parsons Green.
It's dank and dark down in Tufnell Park, the worst it's ever been.
We might nip out for a pint of Stout to the pub around the corner,
But the rant and rave of the salt-sea wave and its keening avifauna?
A sailor's life is all stress and strife and his ways are wild and whacko,
The whores, the booze, the strange tattoos and the stink of shag tobacco.
Give me the kiss of suburban bliss where the pyracanthas grow,
Where children play at the end of the day and the cats slide to and fro.

xxxxStop that racket, skylark!
xxxxxxBrash thou ever wert.
xxxxI could love a shy lark -
xxxxxxThou my ears dost hurt
Screeching outside my window, scratching in the dirt.
xxxxGolden? No, thy worm's
xxxxxxMore a pinkish-brown;
xxxxHow the creature squirms
xxxxxxAs thou gulp'st it down!
It turns my stomach to watch, still in my dressing-gown.
xxxxI shall stop thy din!
xxxxxxI’ve a plan to do thee:
xxxxFirst, I'll lure thee in,
xxxxxxThen perhaps I’ll stew thee,
Or, weather permitting, I’ll simply barbecue thee.

Reason: Linguistic consistency (thee/thy instead of you/your)

Thank you both. I had it right on the original but seemed to fall down on transferring it to eratosphere.
Too right about that bleeding skylark, Brian. I somehow connect this Fotherington-Thomas performance with his being a vegetarian. What a good steak would have done for the fellow.

To hell with the glasses!
Men often make passes
At girls with nice asses.
(Yeah, just one more of countless variations.)

Liquor may trick her,
But candy is randy.
