I hope (in response to you and others) it doesn't look unfriendly or ungrateful to respond so briefly to long, detailed comments. I'm usually inclined to answer point-for-point to make clear I've cared enough to pay attention. Has that tendency weakened my need to respond in the poems? I don't know, but I like the way this poem is developing as I respond less completely in these comments.
