1. Requited Love
2. Childhood
3. Baby and Bathwater
Without the tie option, it was difficult deciding between 1 and 2, and 3 was simply the best of the rest.
Kudos to the joint DG's, Gail & Cathy, for your sterling demonstration of courage under fire; and thank you Alex for hosting another signature event with grace and good humour.
And congratulations to the finalists. Barring the obvious, I was unable to identify any, perhaps because I didn't try.

Well, I was waiting for Alex to weigh in to see how I should vote, but here goes:
1. Requited Love
2. Bathwater
3. Childhood
Congrats to all finalists, and thanks again to Gail, Cathy, and Alex. It's always good when you generate a heated discussion.

Cast your votes in this thread. As usual, points will be tallied as follows:
3 points for your #1 pick
2 points for your #2 pick
1 point for your #3 pick
Tied votes will not be allowed, and if you name a fourth favorite, it will get no points. So make the tough decisions!
Voting will end at 11:59 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at which time the thread will be locked.
The names of the three popular vote winners will be announced on Monday, July 29, along with the names of the finalist poets, as well as ten honorable mentions, and Gail's and Cathy's favorites.
Ready…set…VOTE!

My top 3:
#1: Childhood (sonnet 1)
#2: Calypso (sonnet 4)
#3: Film Noir (sonnet 7)
There were a few others, including Tim's, that were deserving of a vote. I enjoyed the debates even though I'm firmly in the "there have been so many excellent unconventional sonnets throughout history that the debate over what a sonnet is, is moot" camp.

I shan't be voting until I've re-read them all.
That said, I think it would be very useful (for another year?) to create a new thread at voting time containing all the poems so that they can be re-read in one place. Or am I just being lazy?

Brian's suggestion is a good one. Besides the convenience in comparing (my brain tends to implode when I bounce between the threads), it is nice to have the poems quarantined from all the comments.
