Well, I'm standing for re-election as a Tory for South Bucks District Council, which is the most exciting election I'm aware of. I hope South Bucks Spherians will vote for me tomorrow.

A Tory? Why David, I'm shocked. Shocked!

David:
Public service is generally quite painful, but it is important that the good people run and get elected once in a while. I wish you great luck.

All I know about Parliamentary elections is what I've read in Trollope's novels, David, so I hope you haven't had to go broke on bribes for the electorate.
Best of British Luck!

Best of luck to you, David. An English Tory is the noblest work of God. Got to keep those Scotch Socialists on the run.

David, start campaigning. Alicia needn't move to Oxford, but she should deliver her lectures in Latin, which for her would be no problem.

Congratulations, David! Mr. Anthony's reelection bid was a success. Looks like a historic election, with SNP erasing Labour in Scotland and UKIP replacing the Lib Dems as the protest vote party with 90 second places. No one expected a Conservative majority in Parliament, but there it is.

UKIP is not the protest vote party. UKIP is the party for those who wish to leave the EU. If we do leave then they can get back to being Conservatives.
The LibDems will continue to be a protest party. They will gain lots of seats by protesting - against anything really. The Greens are the other protest party.
Do you have Greens in the USA?
