Henry,
I thought you were setting it up as a coconut shy and me with it. Apologies if I erred.
It's the sort of poem that only those familiar with a certain Australian dialect and culture could possibly understand. It doesn't travel. I've read people outside the range of the vocabulary and images sneering at his work and I didn't want to play a part in aiding that process.

It's a powerfully innocent poem.

Sorry if I got the wrong end of the stick.

You could say the bite that is semi-conscious. I bit Henry because I was tired and defensive. He deserves better.
