Default The Ekphrastic Review

Here is a poem I workshopped here a while back.

The photo is not my favorite one. Here is the one I wished had appeared with the poem.

And here is one that shows the cutouts.

I remember this, esp the ark of architecture. Was it always in these dimeter couplets? They work well.

(And I can see why you feel a bit miffed by the photo they used. Not a lot of prow or hexagons visible. Given the journal's name you'd think they could do better tying text to graphic. Oh well. Well done anyway)

Thanks, Joe. Yes, it was always in the dimeter couplets. I had hoped that The Ekphrastic Review would use more than one photo of the house, since it looks so dramatically different from different angles. One photo is fine if you are describing a painting or drawing, but not so great for three dimensional art, especially if it has both an interior and an exterior.

I love this, Susan ~ clear & concise all the way through & you bring it to a close beautifully.

PS I do see why you preferred the photo that truly captured your poem's (& FLW's) "arc."
