Pushcart nomination for a crown
My crown, "The Heavyweight Crown", which started here as single sonnet about a tussle with wrestling coaches, was nominated for a Pushcart Prize by the Rutherford Red Wheelbarrow. The poem ran in their annual anthology earlier this year. Thanks to Roger Slater for suggesting I extend the original sonnet.
The Rutherford Red Wheelbarrow hosts a monthly reading in Rutherford, New Jersey, home of William Carlos Williams. Other nominees include John J. Trause and Judith Christian. Much thanks to their editors, in particular Don Zirilli.

Congrats, Rick!! A crown itself is something, but about wrestling…another level.

I remember the single sonnet, Rick! Congrats. Looking forward to reading the whole crown.

Congratulations, Rick. A sonnet crown is quite an undertaking.

Many congratulations, Rick. Extremely impressive.
How many sonnets does your corona run to? Is there a prescribed number?
I've recently read Donne's "La corona", although (according to Wikipedia) "because there are only 7 of them and because there's no Mastersonnet, La corona is not a full heroic crown."
That's all new to me.
Cheers
David

Thanks David.
I break more than one rule, including the number of lines in a Sonnet (15) ~,:^) There are nine sonnets, whereas the doctrinaire would insist, I think, on 16.
The poem also received an honorable mention in the Poetry by the Sea sonnet contest in 2021, judged that year by Alicia Stallings.
