Grasshopper has kneebones reversed
a spring sprung and angular bloke,
while Cricket's more svelte and the worst
you can say is his knees are a joke.
As leapers they fail to compete
with grasshopper's coachspring affairs.
A cricket has iambic feet
which substitute. No one compares
the leaper of buildings with slow
musicians whose thoughts are elsewhere.
Grasshopper leaps upwards to show
like Cricket he plays in the air.

Jan that is wonderful
insectivorious
anthropomorphical
poetry fun.
May your dactylic
expressions of joie de vivre
leave you forever
the master of stun.

Dvorak and Smetana,
Janacek, gambled with
foxes and peasants
by rivers of sound.
Bartering innocence
for an epiphany,
or an antiphonal
song to astound.
Vixens and chickens
expressing in intervals
pagan and lovely
the song of the ground.
Janacek bettering
Smeterlin buttering
capturing natural
passionate sound.
