Bob Schechter ["Roger Slater"] is exercising his usual reluctance to blow his own horn in not starting a new thread for the new WaPo contest and the Tailgater results, but they deserve one, since the powers that be were clearly impressed by the influx of Sphereans and Brits this time out: the link (is this damn thing on? good).

Be sure to read the nice things the Empress has to say about Bob for suggesting the contest and upping their game. She singles out Bill Greenwell, well-known poet from Darlington, for submitting a couplet about a panto-horse. Brendan Beary is praised for having inspired several entries, and Mary Moore's double dactyls at Bumbershoot are linked.
