Werewolves and India Rubber Man at Poemeleon
Hello Friends,
I have two pulp fiction sonnet-sequences at Poemeleon in the gender issue, one based on werewolf tales, and one on India Rubber Man, Plastic Man, and similar stretchy guys.
Here's the link:

Enjoy!
Best, Tony

Poemeleon is a fine mag, and the line-up of poets reflects that fact.
I am eager to read all of the gender issue. Congratulations!

I enjoyed your series, Tony. Because so much of genre literature is fantasy literature (i.e., straight from the id, the collective unconscious, or whatever psychological theory you follow), it is a fitting tool for exploring all kinds of psychological issues, as you do so well in these.

Hey, thanks. I appreciate the good words. And yes, you're right, Susan, though I'd argue that some pulp writers were pretty self-conscious about the psychological aspects of their fiction, seeing their work as manifestations of primal drives, essentially like the gods and myths of old (a god of love, a god of wealth, a god of nurturing destruction, and so on). They often saw themselves as creating a new mythology, like the comic book writers with their superfolks.
Be well!
Tony
