April Lindner is an assistant professor in English at Wittenberg University,
where she teaches creative writing, literature and composition. she
has poems forthcoming in The Paris Review and The Louisville
Review, and poems published in Prairie Schooner, The Formalist,
The Birmingham Poetry Review, The Greensboro Review, Rhino, and
many other magazines. A poem of hers received an honorable mention in
the 1999 Robinson Jeffers Tor House Prize for Poetry, one of five chosen
by Dana Gioia from a field of over 1,700 poems. She has been the recipient
of Prairie Schooner’s Reader’s Choice Award, and has had a poetry manuscript
chosen by Rita Dove as one of six finalists for the 1990 Walt Whitman
Award from the Academy of American Poets.
Her poetry manuscript, Skin, has won the Walt McDonald
first book poetry prize and will be published next year by Texas Tech
University Press.
