Default Michael Juster translation in Poetry

Mike Juster is full of surprises! Here he is in Poetry magazine with East African proverbs (anonymous), translated from the Oromo (previously known as Galla, which is a language I've heard of, though it's now said to be a pejorative term):

Congratulations, Michael! The final proverb is a found truth:

True words end;
lies extend.

Thanks everyone! I've been off the grid for five days & it was a great joy to come back & find these proverbs in print.

They are probably good evidence for patience. I worked intermittently on them for twenty years.

Congratulations, fine work and fine placement both. These remind me of WS Merwin's "Asian Figures," which is a compliment since I've always been particularly fond of them.
