Dear Eratosphereans,
I’m pleased to announce our newest Eraosphere moderator who’s no stranger to these parts. Drum rolls … it’s Catherine Chandler who replaces Jennifer Reeser. Jennifer is leaving her post for personal reasons and we thank her for all the contribution insight and talent she shared with us and will continue to do as her circumstances permit.
We’re indeed lucky to have Catherine co-moderating Metrical Poetry – The Deep End, alongside John Beaton, and Bob Clawson who have been doing a splendid job there. Catherine brings to the Deep, to Eratosphere Staffdom natural intelligence and boundless inspiration that transcend mere degreed bookishness … although she’s very much degreed and can hit the books with the best of them, and as you can see from her bio that we’re indeed lucky to have her:
Catherine Chandler was born in New York City, raised in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and has lived and worked in Canada since 1972. She has a B.A. in French Literature from Wilkes University and an M.A. in Education (Culture and Values in Education) from McGill University, Montreal, where she lectures in Spanish in the Department of Translation Studies. Twice nominated for a Pushcart Prize and a finalist in the 2008 Howard Nemerov Sonnet competition, Catherine's poetry and translations have been widely published in print and web journals and anthologies in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada.
Please join me in extending a warm Eratosphere welcome to Catherine … even she’s been here all along!
Cheers,
…Alex
