Congrats, David. I knew you were a Hoosier and that Jared was, but not the others you listed (Yusef Komunyakaa, Jane Hilberry, Lisa Mueller, Felix Stefanile, David Wojahn). Or is this by affiliation and not by birth? I guess so, Komunyakaa was born in Louisiana and Wojahn in Minnesota.
I think of Alice Friman as an Indiana poet. Is she in it the anthology? And how come nobody asked Ed and me?

Yes, Janice. She has a poem in it called "Trip to Delphi." The editor required a "connection" to Indiana--lived or studied there, I suppose. Not everyone in the anthology was born there.

You are in excellent company, David. Sounds like it is my patriotic duty to acquire this. even if some flunkey's oversight caused Ed and myself to be overlooked.
Better luck next time, Ed.

I am about the luckiest person there could ever be, in many ways; and now I'll have this interesting book to read. It will be intriguing to see how they treat James Whitcomb Riley. Since they have forgotten Soderling, they have an uphill battle with me -- here's hoping they win!

Janice: One more note: Felix Stefanile, of the Stefanile sonnet, taught at Purdue University for many years. He was, in fact, on staff when I was a graduate student there, but I never had him for a class and did not know him as a poet--mainly because I had just started writing poems and studying contemporary poets at that time. Looking back, I wish I had at least taken a class from him!
