I do have a vote but I confess I've never used it because you actually have to go to Oxford to cast it. I havent been there for thirty years except once with my family swimming and punting down the Cherwell. The Colleges have wrecked the town and Cambridge is now nicer.
Still, best of luck to Alicia.

Wow, that would be fabulous, even if it is the Other Place. I'm not eligible but I have friends who are, so maybe I can campaign.

John, I think you can now vote for the POP on-line.

Voting for Alicia would be a good excuse to visit Oxford again. I passed Classics Moderations there - 33 hours of written exams in one week - but I didn't graduate, so I don't think I'm eligible to vote.

I notice that nominations must be in by today, signed by 50 members of Convocation.
Has this been taken care of?

I can only repeat what I've read on Facebook. Ernest Hilbert has posted there that she has enough nominations to have her name included on the ballot.
If I remember correctly, David, you have a Facebook account. A Facebook message to Ernie would get your question answered.
Another point is that people have to register to vote, so be sure to take care of that as well.

Alicia confirmed her nomination is in, though it has yet to be listed on the site.
I've applied for registration.
The Oxford Professorship of Poetry has the reputation of being the dirtiest elections fought in England in recent years, so this one should be fun.
If elected Alicia will be the first woman to hold the post.

I know most of you are not, understandably, into Twitter, but if you have friends who are & have a decent number of followers, they can help build grassroots support for Alicia by retweeting from @amjuster.

Can't vote, but "Liked" her page, as Janice suggested. I hope she wins!!!
May try the Twitter route. Thanks, Mike.
